La he usado por bastante tiempo y gracias a Dios no me han robado ningún dispositivo asociado pero cada vez que verifico la posición es muy exacta. Recomendable de manera absoluta, además es chilena que mejor XD

I have used the Prey app through the years but stop doing so and wanted to again use it to link up some of my Windows computers. However, I found the app electronically malfunctional. For instance, when I tried to remove an iPhone I no longer had, although I would get the menu in settingon some tries (one out of five) the app would just totally stop working, when I attempted to contact help to get help or to cancel my subscription it rejected my request and kept saying that my password (which I had used at that point at least a dozen times to sign in to try to access settings)was my invalid. It is a very unfriendly app on my iPhone.

I downloaded it and it was a nightmare. I’d push a button and it did nothing. After hitting the button 6-7x it would finally change screens. The one page I got to just registered my phone. No explanations. No instructions I’d constantly have to exit out of the one and only screen I could get to and had to sign in over and over. There are literally no options to do anything.

I love the concept. I have had prey on two other devices for quite a while. Added my phone and it started eating battery power like nothing else. Fifty-four percent usage across less than 24 hours. Disabled ALL options and features with no change. Nice try. Deleted it so I can depend on my phone again.

App is unusable. Can’t get the MDM certificate installed and support just sends you in circles. Regretting switching to the paid version.

Downloaded the app and cant even signup. 401 Error or Email invalid (do you have an account) error. I suggest they TRACK the problem.

Whether I use my login credentials or the QR code, on my iPhone with OS16.4 I get the error “an SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made.” No help or other information is provided to fix the issue. Utterly useless.

The attitude, motivation and thinking of the author shows in multuple ways. The whole vibe of the app is great. Solid functionality, miminal annoyance, BUT not less than that! Has enough weight on the security side of the convenience vs security side of the balance scale. Wait! Major issues and glitches when run on my M1 mac (admittedly, it is designed for iPad, so only -1*): 1. Seems confused about location access: In Settings, I see (on the displayed map) that it knows where it is. BUT, on every launch, "Enable Location Access" pops up, AND clicking "Go to Settings" doesn't work well AND it shouldn't pop up because in System Preferences, my "Enable Location Services" is checked for Prey and in general. And I have to leave it running. But that's surely an Apple API issue - as is all of this, really, AFAICT, so I'm putting it back to 5 stars for now. Because I know the app does now and has worked flawlessly on iOS (on Touch, phone & pad) for ages. Update:Just wanted to add that there is an app for MacOS, but it won't run on my M1 because I don't have Rosetta installed -- as a precaution, for security reasons. Needs to be compiled as a universal app, which may or may not be simple, based on what I see re. other apps in github. (Also, I'm guessing it needs more work to be compatible with Apple's increasingly restrictive security models in new OS releases?)

I hope it does what it says it’s supposed to do. It is not easy to understand and set up. It’s repetitive and has to be filled in several times to make it take, and even then you feel you were just lucky when it finally says “You’re Protected”.

Just one problem, every time I exit out of the app to grab my authenticator code, it makes me put in my password again. As secure as my password is, I have to copy it from BitWarden. Which means my authenticator code expires again before logging in. Can you fix this?

I use the app in Android and iPad OS. In Android it’s working 5 stars, but not the same opinion is for iPad OS. An example, I live in San Francisco, but the lockdown stuck me in South America since March 2020, but still in January 2021, my iPad stays visible for Prey in San Francisco (!!!). I must force a location update to see my iPad in South America. So, how would I know where is my iPad if it’s stolen in my actual city? You must improve that, it’s a big issue. Insist, in Android it’s great, it was the reason than I don’t qualify with 1 star.

After multiple times cannot logon. Difficult to trust an app that is incompetent from the start.

PREY free plan was all I needed to track my laptop and phone from one central web app. That said, you need to go through the process of getting a signed certificate onto your phone which can be complicated for people who aren’t as tech-savvy as I am.

Great stuff. Highly recommended.

After finding out this is incompatible with any other management software such as Microsoft 365 I asked for my account to be cancelled. My request was ignored and then they charged me full year membership! Still no response from anyone and now have to contact my bank to remove unauthorized charge. AVOID!

The application is great and it has many features. But it is useless for iOS. Everything works perfect, but in order to track the device the thief needs to open the app. The chances for him to open it are very low if not null. And if your device is protected with pin code then this app is just useless. Prey tries to solve this by opening a popup (while the device is turned on) or a notification (if the device is turned off) saying something like “Your bank state is ready” so the thief has to click it so the app can open and the location can be updated. I’m not saying this is Prey’s fault. iOS is a pretty closed operative system actually and leaves applications with a low amount of features to work with. Prey should try to think about another way to locate the device.

My computer, phone, and iPad are all in the same room but the map consistently shows them hundreds of miles apart. My MacBook in particular usually appears to be on the other side of the state. When I try to open Prey on the iPad, it automatically reroutes me to an empty Safari browser window and that’s as far as I can get. Apple’s findmyphone feature is consistently accurate with these devices (so I know the location settings are not the issue), I just wish it would show my android phone’s location, too.

Seriously what kind of creators force you to sign up for a premium service just to contact them directly. On IOS their login is missing files en. Files and I can’t even contact them to tell them. I’ll gladly delete the app and find another source. Good job 🙄

Used to work. Maybe it’s the latest update or maybe it’s camouflage mode, but the screen goes black upon startup. Could be something to do with the “CAPTCHA I am not a robot” step. Either way it has rendered the app unusable on my 2 mobile devices. If I can’t figure out a fix for this I’ll be uninstalling.

I use to be able to log in, logging now requires 6 digit security code, I did not have one before, I can use my app on phone to login site, but what is the point because what if I lose my phone. What is going on.....

Tried to delete a device and would not permit me. With credit card in website twice paid $5 for monthly fee. It’s not seen in my account although I can see the charge in my card statement. So I have twice paid and the app will not permit me to add my devices. In their website the charge to my credit card is not reflected. Will have to contest the credit card charges if I can’t fix this. BEWARE.

Had find my phone app... failed me ! Got prey and always works !

App is heavy, not polished enough to warrant 54$/year. Takes forever to get a devices location, battery hog. On top of all that they won’t allow me to cancel my subscription. Keeps telling me it can’t process for days.

The User acceptance and agreement page is completely broken in new app installs. You’re unable to check the boxes and accept. The accept button disappears.

Have to check it often to ensure protection is on :/

I want an app that would take pics of whoever took my phone in the future because I have an app like that in my old android, that take pic of whoever try to access my phone lock and fail. This app promised and disappoint. I email the customer service and they tell me to follow some steps to have the app take pic. It works... once!!! Out of how many tries? I cant count anymore. Cancelled the membership, thank god I do that before the payment processed through because it would be a waste of money. Save your time people, this app stinks.

Awesome app

This app has saved my butt and phone more than once. It’s accurate. My favorite feature by far is that it provides photos when placed in “missing” mode. It turns on the front and back camera giving you a look at your phones surroundings which aids in finding it and making a case against anyone that may have stolen it. Awesome software.

When Are use this app it automatically signs me out every once in a while. It is so annoying and so inconvenient. But at least this app works and does its job.

This app wrecked my phone, my battery percentage will jump from 30 to 10 in only seconds and my front camera has completely stopped working. After uninstalling it, the problems persist.

I couldn’t agree more with previous review by saying train wreck. Ever since it was downloaded to my phone the phone will randomly power off, freeze on start up, camera completely disabled and gives errors and of course flashlight app won’t work either. Still trouble even after uninstalling and had to get another phone!!!! Don’t use this app!!!!!!!!

This thing is a train wreck. The people who wrote positive reviews are either related to the developer or high. I installed it and discovered very poor usability. I’ve been trying to close my account for over an hour and keep getting a message that my email address and password don’t match. I tried the “forgot your password” option (even though I haven’t) and that doesn’t work either. No email address or phone number to get help. If you try this and don’t like it, good luck closing your account. Stay away!

As I sard above, great idea if it worked

So I downloaded this app set up email and login. But when I click on settings I can’t go back out. So I deleted this app 4 times already and re-download it 4 times and same results. So not working for my phone

Often, the device locate does not work because the device fails to communicate with the server. Also, the app lacks features and is slightly difficult to navigate.

I tracked my iPhone before and didn’t leave the app open and my iPhone got stolen at the car wash. I tried to track it but it says offline. Hate this app 1300$ down the drain

Really? Works via Twitter and Facebook? The two last things to trust. I decided to delete this app. Sad.

I lost my phone two days ago. I have an iPhone X, so somebody stole it from me in my house, it was this little kid. But I tried to use “Prey” and “Find my iPhone” both, if I only had pray I would probably be without a phone right now. “Prey” cant find the location very well same with the iphone app But “Prey” wouldn’t connect at all with the with my phone, allot of stuff happened. The police finally found it. So if you are looking for an app to help you find the phone There is no better then find my iphone, you can probably find something similar but not better. I don’t know about android users if they have something like this but it is not worth the price. Find my iPhone is free with no extra charge.

Every time I open this app whether on my phone or my Mac I get frustrated. I just got a new iPhone x and logged in and the app says I'm protected but the phone does not show up in my list of devices. This happened worth my previous phone as well and eventually it stated working but I'm sick of tech support emails. There has to be something better out there.

I wish the camouflage features worked a little better. For example if it is pretending to be a band app the icon should change to a bank themed icon and when you open the app it will look like a mobile banking app login screen. Other than that it is great.
